Simple, a glass J tube mounted on a wooden stand with scale 0-80 cm. Its closed limb is 400 x 1 mm bore & the open limb approx. 780 x 8 mm bore. A loose fitting glass plunger is pushed into the open limb & by displacement the height of mercury can be adjusted from about -50 mm to +450 mm relative to closed end. Requires about 6 ml of mercury. Supplied without mercury.

To demonstrate the principle of conversion of momentum and to show that momentum has direction as well as magnitude. Consists of a curved wooden runway 280 x 67 mm length x height with an 8 mm groove, an index mark near top and a slotted metal plate at bottom. A device can be attached to the plate to provide support to the object sphere either exactly opposite the runway or at slightly oblique position. A plumb bob and 2 steel balls are provided. The apparatus can be fixed to the table with a GClamp (which is not provided).
